After hearing “Honey,” the first single off Erykah Badu’s forthcoming album, New Amerykah, I’ll admit that I wasn’t too excited about her project. This song, however has redefined my entire perception of the direction Erykah is headed in. The production is undeniably addictive and her smooth voice is the perfect complement. A+, Erykah!

This is the cut!!! The Mantra has not left my head since I first heard it and it actuality gets back to the roots of the oral tradition with tones and chanting. Some people might dismiss this as some “Yoho num regay yo” babble but they are asleep and blinded by the larger corporate picture. Work it out Badu!

this song is fire especially live, i had the chance to hear her perform at the raggae festival in los angeles, the girl got vocals!!!
