Congrats Ciara, You finally have a great single for your new album FANTASY RIDE
An open letter to Ciara:
Dear Ci-Ci,
I’ve been with you since the good-ole days of “Goodies” when everyone at my school (I was then in a private boarding school in up-state CT) was hating on the movement. When “Oh” came out I played the video nonstop in my room. And when “Promise” came out I finally sealed my appreciation for your musical career. With jams like “C.R.U.S.H” and “I’m Just Me,” I personally believed The Evolution a classic. Then, fast forward a year or so, and I came across a snippet online of your new single “High Price” featuring Ludacris (oh, and btw, your lawyers tried suing me for posting it on this site) and I started to dig the direction your new album, Fantasy Ride was headed. But then, out of nowhere, you scrapped the single, and decided to go with this new record, “Go Girl.” I wasn’t against it at first, but as I began to read all the negative feedback you received online for the song, I began to reassess my feelings for the song. I realized that “Go Girl” was a step down in your musical career. The song was just boring. I then heard other leaked songs off the Fantasy Ride project (”Echo,” “BoomBox,” and “Supernatural”) and began to lose hope for the so-called dual disc masterpiece Ciara had in store for her fans. I’ll be honest, I thought you’d go back to the drawing board and re-do this project altogether.
But wait…. just yesterday I receive this new song “Never Ever” in my inbox, featuring Young Jeezy and produced by heatmaker Polow Da Don. And wow, am I impressed. The beat is very laid back, and Ciara’s vocals are a bit quiet, but I think this song is beautiful and ready to take radio waves by storm. Congrats to Jive and Ci-Ci: this song is a hit and it’s reinvigorated hope for a promising 2009 release of Ciara’s third studio album, Fantasy Ride.
