Common vs. Lil’ Wayne: There’s No Beef!
So this rumor broke down earlier yesterday that Common had supposedly dissed Lil’ Wayne this past weekend at the HH101 festival in Los Angeles, CA.
Here’s an account of what *supposedly* went down:
Common has been known to drop a subliminal diss here and there. Remember that line that was supposedly for 50 Cent? I don’t know if you do, but that’s of no consequence. Over the weekend, Luda and Common headlined the LA Hip-Hop 101 festival and it was there to educate the youth about real Hip-Hop. When I say real Hip-Hop, I mean more than rap. Common finally came out, and he put on an amazing show, I was informed. He was breakdancing, playing old-school classics it was sick. BUT, according to the people that were there, I heard he dropped a freestyle where he said, “I hate Wayne but I have a lollipop, I hate Wayne but I’d f**k a cop.” I have yet to find any video on the show, but if you do send it over.
Just for the other half of the show…Ludacris, was the the headliner. He was pretty ill and gave the crowd classics like Common before him. He also showed up with Hip-Hop’s favorite booty clapper Shawnna and she did her thing too - killed it. I hope their album together comes out right.
This simply isn’t true…and since LiveFromLAX.com (our other half) was in the building…we wanted to show you the video footage to prove it. Check out the clip below… Common simply says “I Ain’t Lil’ Wayne but I got a lollipop….” There’s no hate people.
So there you have it. We’ll be posting up more clips of Common, Ludacris, and Janelle Monae’s performance at HH101 shortly…
Ignorant quote of the day: Ron Browz- “I buy champagne and pour it on the floor”

Listen: Ron Browz feat. R. Kelly- “Club To A Bedroom” (MP3)
Yes…he actually says it…at the 1:48 mark.
Unless he’s talking about $2.99 André champagne, I smell bullshit.
WTF Quote of The Moment: Soulja Boy
Via BallerStatus:
Despite [Soulja Boy's] massive popularity, the rapper’s sophomore album iSouljaBoyTellem has been a disappointment sales-wise, compared to his platinum debut SouljaBoyTellEm.com. He credits the deeper content of new album as its downfall.
Now that you’ve heard Soulja Boy’s alleged reasoning behind his sophomore album, iSouljaBoyTellEm doing terrible numbers, check out this choice record off the album below:
Listen: Soulja Boy- “Gucci Bandana” (Feat. Feat Gucci Mane And Shawty Lo)
Really deep kid.
So Hiptop/T-Mobile are about to launch a new Sidekick…
…with the unique name of the Sidekick 2009. Get it? It’s a Sidekick, and it’s being released in 2009. How clever!
Does anyone still use Sidekicks? Let us know if you do… but I just don’t see them around anymore especially when a Blackberry Bold is free these days
As you get ready for Mardi Gras…check out N.O. artist Flipset Fred’s “Watch That Waistline”
I know a lot of people might think this just sounds like noise…this record is crazy! Last time I was in New Orleans I heard this song twenty or thirty times a night on Bourbon Street. Definitely a great dance track… screw the Stanky Leg..it’s all about New Orleans bounce:
To get an idea of how one is supposed to dance to bounce music, check out this Youtube link below. LOL (NSFW)
New Video: Kanye West feat. Kid Cudi- “Welcome To Heartbreak”
The effects are amazing…but according to West himself, some other artist is doing the same thing with a video of theirs…so he isn’t releasing this as an official single.
This is not the next single, “Amazing” is the next single.
This is the video we’ve been working on for the last month.
We know there is another video out there using the same technique so we were forced to drop it now.
The video for “Welcome To Heartbreak” was directed by Los Angeles, CA-based photographer Nabil of Nabilstudios.com. The man has done some amazing photography work with some of your favorite artists and personalities. Check out some images after the cut, courtesy of his web site:
New Leak: Karina Pasian- “Go Back” (Produced by Scyence)
