Props to Brian over at Concrete Loop for posting this first… this is a great outtake from Alicia Keys’s latest album, As I Am. The CD dropped two weeks ago and was a complete success, selling over 742,000 copies. Check out the Amy Winehouse-esque track, “Hurts So Bad” below.

Brian’s right–it makes sense why this cut didn’t make the album. It sounds a little to jazzy and nostalgic compared to the rest of the material on As I Am. Regardless, check it out below — definitely one of my favorites.

A few days ago, a few bloggers posted that Chris Brown is sleeping with his manager, Tina Davis, and that it was disrupting his current “Up Close & Personal Tour” with Bow Wow. As expected, these rumors turn out to be completely FALSE. An update from Chris Brown’s label:

Chris Brown and his manager, Tina Davis have a strictly professional relationship. Ms. Davis has been instrumental in helping Chris achieve success as a multi-talented singer/dancer/actor.

Rumors that the relationship goes beyond a working one, are not only patently false; they diminish her efforts and his undeniable talents.

Amen. Get back on your grind, people.

You may remember R&B singer Lee Carr off the Def Jam-produced Waist Deep Soundtrack. He was pretty much the only dope addition to the album, with the soul banger, “Act Like That.” The singer/songwriter recently left Def Jam Records to sign a multi-million dollar contract with Jive Records. He’s currently in the studio working with Stargate, Polow Da Don, Timbaland, Danja, and others. Look out for his album coming out early 2008. Stay tuned.
